Allan Mcintyre gave evidence to Lord Napier's commission at Castlebay on 26 May 1883. There are no references to him in the 1881 census, but he does turn up in the 1861 at Glen, the area he represented at the hearing. At that time, he is aged 35 and living with his siblings Marrion, Christian, John and Christian [sic]. The 1851 clarifies the two sisters with the same name as Catherine and Christina, the latter being 10 years younger than the former. In that year, the children live with their mother Ann and range in ages from 6 to 23.
In 1871, Allan lives with his wife Mary, who is 15 years younger, and their children John and Catherine.
Allan Mcintyre passed away on 19 March 1887 at the age of 60. He was the widower of Mary, and the son of John and Ann (nee Macniel). He had suffered typhus fever for 12 days. His sister Catherine reported the death, by leaving her mark.
