Murdoch Mackinnon gave evidence to Lord Napier's inquiry at Castlebay on 26 May 1883. Unfortunately, he does not feature in the 1881 census, and there are two men of that name in the 1871 census. With the (limited) information available, I cannot reliable determine which is the Murdoch Mackinnon that spoke at Castlebay.
