Donald Black gave evidence to the Napier Commission at Lochboisdale on 28 May 1883. We find him in the 1881 census at Poolewe, a medical practitioner, as borne out by the suffix "MB" in his description in the Napier Report. Donald's place of birth is Torasay, although in the Report he says he was born in Bunessan, a dozen miles further west on the Isle of Mull.
