Donald Macdonald gave evidence to the Napier Commission during its session at Lochboisdale on 28 May 1883. We find him at 2 South Boisdale in the 1881 census, married to Mary and with their children John (23) and Ann (18) in the house. Mary's sister Catherine is also present. No earlier references are immediately apparent.
Donald died on 20 August 1886 aged 75 of natural causes. He was the son of Roderick and Marion nee Beaton.
